Who am I?
Who am I?
I am an information analyst by day and a dreamer by night.
I was raised conservatively in the eighties and participated in "Boys Brigade" and the "Gifted Childrens' Society" in those early years!
My school subjects were English, physics, chemistry, statistics, calculus, woodwork, metalwork, technical drawing and electronics.
My interests and hobbies have included archery, electronics, reading, roleplaying games and video games (Amstrad CPC, Sega Master System, PS1, PS3, PS3, PS4, Xbox, Xbox 360, Nintendo WII). I delved deep into 8-bit computer programming and played Dungeons & Dragons as a hobby.
My career has mostly been technical/administrative with the New Zealand Defence Force (Royal New Zealand Air Force 1991-2001 and civilian roles 2002-2007, 2011-2025), New Zealand Government (Ministry of Economic Development 2001-2002, Other agencies 2007-2010) and private sector (Loyalty NZ - Flybuys 2010-2011).
As an information management specialist, I am an advocate for the strong use of metadata and am very experienced in website development, including the use of SharePoint, HTML and other supporting scripting technologies.
My writing has been inspired and influenced by fantasy, science fiction, and horror genres.
My knowledge is informed by real-life experience and research across a broad range of subject matter that includes mainstream world history and tales of conspiracy, intrigue, supernatural occurrences, paranormal encounters, strange mysteries and 'forbidden' archaeological discoveries.
As a Freemason, I served as the Master of Trentham Lodge No 262 on the roll of the Grand Constitution of New Zealand (2022-2023) and as the Secretary (2023 to 2026).
In October 2025, I declared my faith at Hope Centre, Lower Hutt with the Seekers Prayer and the Sinners Prayer.
On 29 March 2026, I was Water Baptised to further a life and commitment towards honouring Jesus Christ, our King and Saviour, who died for our sins on the cross.

Tom's Intrepid Travels Around the World is a full collection of travel writings and memories written by my father, which I have compiled and edited into a book format. I have released this as a tribute to him after he passed away in September 2022.
Scholar, Shadow, Storm & Stone - A Kanarzand Adventure was launched on 31 Oct 25.
The Veil Burned Away was launched on 27 November 2025.

What am I working on?
I am writing a fantasy novel named Aurelian which tells the story of a young crusader Knight-Initiate named Taurinius who returns home from the battlefield to learn that his mother is gravely unwell. As he investigates the cause, he uncovers a wide-ranging plot that threatens to destabilise the kingdom of Venmoth and he must call on his faith to prevent that.
I am also compiling a non-fiction book named Songs and Visions which will detail the interesting images and words that I have received with my renewal of Christian faith from 2025 to the present day.
