In the dystopian city of Synthoria, citizens live under the ironclad rule of the Authority, who claim the world outside is a toxic wasteland and enforce obedience through daily doses of a “health” pill called LifeMaxx.
John Tannan, a loyal factory worker, believes the Authority’s narrative until a chance meeting with Darleen, a young woman living off-grid, reveals shocking truths: the world beyond the city walls is not only habitable but beautiful, and LifeMaxx is designed to suppress independent thought and shorten lives. Darleen introduces John to the resistance, a covert group determined to expose the Authority’s lies.
This short story was inspired by films such as "1984", "Logan's Run" and "A Brave New World" - it was also partially influenced by the constant reinforcement of the Covid vaccine booster regime (despite its deception and known side effects) we are offered in our present age.
